On its way to become an e-commerce hub, Pinterest has rolled out new features for facilitating shopping on the site. hub. The new service announced at the company’s San Francisco headquarters on the 28th of June includes a virtual shopping bag that users can fill while cruising the bulletin boards.
“When you’re ready to check out, everything you’ve added to your bag will be right there waiting for you,” Pinterest product manager Tim Weingarten said in a blog post.
Last year also Pinterest introduced ‘pins’ in mobile applications that allowed users to buy items they see on bulletin boards.
As of now the new virtual shopping bag feature is available for Android users and for those visiting Pinterest on their computers but very soon it will be available for Apple smartphones and tablets users.
Besides, the social media company has also revamped merchant profiles in order to make it easier for users to see what is new, on sale or popular.
