The much talked about video calling feature in WhatsApp will soon be rolled out for Android users.
The feature first spotted by FoneArena has now been seen by multiple beta testers with the latest update to the app. When these users pressed the call button it prompted them to choose either an audio or video call.
The company was working on this feature for almost six months. In fact, last year in December, screenshots of the iOS version of the app was leaked that showed a basic video calling interface.
Although the video calling feature isn’t ready for the public yet however it will be released soon according to the report.
Like with audio calling last year, video calling feature will also be limited to small numbers of users initially. The instant messaging app has hundreds of millions of active users which makes the data-intensive feature like video calling to be rolled out very gradually, as per the report.
